Facilitating New Beginnings

Coming winter 2023

Become a Member of the AGATA Resource Centre Community

Use your voice and presence to advocate for better mental health services, and combat the stigma associated with mental illness.

Imagine a space where healing and mental health resources were presented to you in a way that felt more accessible, relatable, and relevant. Our ARC Monthly Membership equips Black and historically marginalized community members with the necessary tools and resources needed to aid them as they heal from trauma, break generational curses, and journey through to the other side of healing.

The ARC Membership is for those who are ready to empower themselves through education of mental health and practice of wellness.

What kind of healing techniques will be used?

We utilize many ways that allow for learning about mental health and wellness. Our programs are integrative, holistic, and culturally relevant to the community we serve.

What do you mean by integrative and holistic?

Integrative and holistic wellness is approaching healing by looking at all parts of the human experience (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual), utilizing a wide range of fields and techniques to bring about harmony for the whole person.

Are your programs and workshops confidential?

Our workshops and programs are public, as we have an open-door policy. However, what happens during these programs and services does not leave our center. For certain services, confidentiality waivers will be used. In other workshops or Zoom video meetings, we will announce if and when recording will take place. We understand the value of your trust and take precautions to safeguard it. If and when it is necessary, we will provide a detailed description of the ethical code that governs our relationships to the members. This document highlights our standards in plain text, and also codifies our commitment to you, the client, and your progress.

Who else will lead workshops and courses?

Our team consists of subject matter experts, external stakeholders, community members just like you. We believe that working with our community is the best way to empower our community and make change. Many of our facilitators have facilitated support groups, hosted an event, or ran workshops. We encourage you to subscribe to our newsletter, so you’ll be in the know!

I’m not Black or a person of colour. How may I support or be part of this community?

Supporting Black, people of colour, and other marginalized communities is our priority. However, we assist anyone in need to our best capabilities. We appreciate that you want to support the spaces that Black, People of Color, and marginalized groups need to feel seen, heard, and safe. Please consider contributing funds to support work here.
